Detailed criticisms by the Unofficial Members and tistinctly sympathetic Government attitude to their requests were the principal features in the Legislative Council yesterday, when members debated the Colony's Budget for 1934.
There were fewer Unofficial speakers this year, but a greater xumber of official replies.
The Hon, Sir Henry Pollock, presenting the Unofficial case, drew attention to the numerous complaints about the bus services, both on the island and the mainland. Replying, the Inspector General of Police stated that unless a definite im- provement is effected, the penal clauses in the contract will be invoked.'
